The Fappening May Follow Ashley Madison Leaks After Hackers Claim They Have NSFW User Pics

As the world continues to reel following the Ashley Madison hack, it appears there might be even more bad news coming for people who signed up on the hookup website geared towards extra-marital affairs. If claims by the Ashley Madison hackers can be believed, it appears another round of The Fappening might be on the horizon because the group claims it has a massive number of NSFW pictures users had uploaded to their Ashley Madison accounts.

For those not aware, The Fappening is a internet phenomenon when nude or explicit photos of beautiful people, usually famous ones, are released onto the web. The Fappening has happened to a number of some of the biggest actresses of our time and it’s always embarrassing. For those who truly don’t follow the Internet that much, The Fappening is referring to just what people do when they see these pictures. To fap, is the web slang for masturbating. It’s icky enough when talking about celebrities, but the Ashley Madison hacking has left plenty of non-celebrities very much exposed.

The fallout from the Ashley Madison hacking might lead to people being more careful about what kind of information they post online in the future. That’s not really going to help people who might be victims of The Fappening who already have their pictures out there. Some have said that victims of The Fappening have brought it on themselves because they weren’t smart enough to keep their nude pics off the web. At the same time, the people who were using Ashley Madison were trusting the site to keep their information safe, just as other victims of The Fappenings that have come and gone thought their photos were in the hands of people they could trust.

We won’t know whether or not the Ashley Madison hackers have the pics they claim they have until they release them, but at this point, they haven’t given a reason to doubt them. The group says they have more than 300 GB of data that isn’t login information. It would seem this would provide enough pics to start The Fappening in a very real and very painful way. The group, known as Impact Team, believes they are doing the world a favor by posting this information. They have called Ashley Madison a drug dealer, and that might be a hint at what they’re going to do next. If they believe The Fappening can further their cause, they’ll likely cause it to happen.
