Jared Fogle, a subway Pitchman 15 years ago, was a household name in the United States after losing 200 pounds to what he described as a Subway diet. He is now facing close to 13 years in prison for child pornography charges and crossing state lines to pay for sex with minors.
Jared is not the only one in this devastating situation. Russel Taylor, a former director of Fogle's charity that focus on children's health, is also facing child pornography charges as well. According to some reports, he had videos and images of minors engaging in sexual activities that he shared with Fogle.
According to PPPFocus, Rochelle Herman-Walrond, a former radio host from Sarasota, helped the FBI take down Jared.
Rochelle said she made her first contact with Jared while he was making an appearance in 2007 in Sarasota. They were in contact with each other over the course of four years, as she served as an informant wearing a wire.
Herman soon began to uncover Fogle's taste for minors and was very surprised by it. It all started when he made a random comment
"He told me that he thought middle school girls were so hot." Herman said. "I was in shock... I actually was questioning, 'Did i really hear what i think i heard? I looked over my cameraman and was just astounded."
As time went on, Jared became very careless with his words and his conduct in the presence of Herman and her children. He even went as far as talking about sex with minors.
"It was something that he really, really enjoyed," she said.
"I had two young children at the time, and he talked to me about installing hidden cameras in their rooms and asked me if I would choose which child I would like him to watch," she said. "I had to play a role."
Although she couldn't stand this distasteful behavior, she had to focus on gathering evidence to put him behind bars.
According to Whotv, Fogle will plead guilty to possessing and distributing child pornography and to traveling across state lines to have sex with at least two teenage girls. He will also pay restitution to 14 victims who were secretly photographed and who were also payed for sex. Each victim will receive $100,000 to help with counselling, treatment, education, and support.
As of this writing, no date has been set yet for his next court date, where he will formally enter a plea.
