Slash, Axl Rose Bury The Hatchet, Guns N’ Roses Rockers Reconcile After Years Of Hatred

The mutual animosity between Guns N’ Roses icons, Slash and Axl Rose, has been legendary for years. Fans of Guns N’ Roses never thought that Slash and Axl Rose would ever be able to talk to each other in order to settle their differences. Those thoughts have changed after Slash gave an interview to Aftonbladet. The interviewer asked Slash if it was true that he and Axl were friends again. Slash gave the answer that fans have been waiting to hear.

“It was probably way overdue, you know. But it’s very cool at this point to dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long.”

Naturally, the question of a reunion with Axl Rose, along with Guns N’ Roses was brought up.

“Oh, I couldn’t answer that one. Let’s get off the subject because that’s an old one.”

Slash quit playing for Guns N’ Roses in 1996. It has been thought that that was the last time Slash and Axl Rose spoke to each other. Apparently, the issues between Slash and Axl include a variety of things. In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2012, Slash talked about the hatred between him and Axl.

“He hates my guts. It’s over a lot of different stuff; I don’t even know. There’s just no communication between us. I talk to Duff and Steven, but when it comes to old Guns N’ Roses, there really isn’t anybody that makes decisions.”

Slash hoped that Guns N’ Roses would be able to come together for one night in 2012 when the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“My whole thing was that I really, in my heart of hearts, wanted to have the whole original band get together and actually perform, which I sort of knew was wishful thinking. When the whole thing first came up, that’s basically what I wanted to do. It became apparent that that wasn’t going to happen.”

Axl Rose refused to attend the induction ceremony of Guns N’ Roses.

When news spread that Slash and Axl Rose have buried the hatchet, fans on Twitter started to believe that a Guns N’ Roses reunion was possible.

Now that Slash and Axl Rose are on speaking terms, do you think it is too far of a stretch to consider a Guns N’ Roses reunion in the future?
