WWE Rumors: Number Of Huge Names Already In New York For ‘SummerSlam’ — Who Will Show Up On Show?

The huge amount of rumors going around about WWE SummerSlam is ridiculous, and there really is no telling what could come true. For now, there are 10 matches on the card, and one is likely to be moved to the kickoff, but there’s so much more. A large number of big names are in New York for the weekend, and it’s going to be interesting to see if any of them actually show up on the show itself.

PW Insider reported on Saturday that some WWE Hall of Famers and legends were already in town. It isn’t quite known what they will be doing or why they are there, but it’s going to be fun finding out.

As of Saturday, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman (X-Pac), and Kevin Nash had arrived. Rumor had it that Hall and Nash were not going to be at SummerSlam, but were going to make an appearance at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn on Saturday night.

There aren’t just some members of the nWo and the Kliq in town either.

Sgt. Slaughter, Howard Finkel, and Oscar of Men On a Mission are also in town for the weekend. They could be there working backstage for WWE or even just visiting friends.

Ric Flair is in New York for the weekend and it is likely that he is there to see his daughter Charlotte wrestle in the Nine-Diva Tag Team Elimination match. It is said that the entire Flair family is actually in town.

Flair could end up accompanying his daughter to the ring on Sunday night.

In an interesting note, WrestleZone is reporting that Gabe Sapolsky and Sal Hamaoui of WWNLive are backstage at this evening’s NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. It’s not known exactly what they are there for, but word has it that there could be discussions about a working relationship with WWE and NXT.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin was brought into New York City earlier this week for the WWE 2k16 event, but he was not set to stay in town. It was said that Austin was going to the event on Friday and then heading back home on Saturday so he wouldn’t actually be there for Takeover: Brooklyn or SummerSlam.

WWE SummerSlam is going to have a number of shocks and surprises, and that includes a rumored huge swerve for the WWE Title match. New York is stacked with WWE talent, Hall of Famers, and legends so anything is possible to happen.
