Chris Brown To Feature Rihanna On New Album ‘Royalty’? ‘Ayo’ Singer Has ‘Surprises’ For Fans

Chris Brown and Rihanna may be making headlines regarding their rumored romance, but is the singer planning to “surprise” fans with a feature from his ex-girlfriend on his new album?

Brown took to Twitter on Saturday to inform fans that his seventh studio album will be named after his daughter, Royalty.

“MY NEW ALBUM WILL BE NAMED “ROYALTY,” the singer wrote on his personal Twitter account on August 22.

While Brown’s previous album, X, suffered major delays due to Brown checking himself in-and-out-of rehab and serving a minor jail sentence last year, the singer is proving to fans that he’s focused on his music career by formally announcing the title of the new project, Hot New Hip Hop reports.

While Brown hasn’t confirmed a release date for Royalty, sources close to Brown reveal that the singer has a few “surprises” in store for eager fans.

A source close to Chris Brown reveals to Urban Islandz, “There will be some big surprises on this project in the form of Rihanna and Royalty.”

The source goes on to allege that Brown has a feature planned for Rihanna on his new album, marking the duo’s first collaboration together since calling it quits as a couple in 2013.

“It’s been a while since they have collaborated together and they also have previously recorded tracks that can also be used but it seems like they are making something new from scratch,” the source reveals of the rumors of a Chris Brown/Rihanna collaboration in the future.

Similarly, the source notes that Brown make a take a page from Jay Z’s book and feature his daughter on his new album as well.

“Breezy really sees a star in the making with Royalty, so he is trying to groom her from a young age like a lot of celebrities do. Her vocals will be on the project.”

The source concludes by noting that while Brown doesn’t have an official date set for Royalty‘s release, fans can expect the project to drop “sometime this year.”

While Brown has begun promoting his upcoming studio album, Rihanna’s fans are still eagerly awaiting news regarding the Barbadian beauty’s eighth studio album.

Rumors regarding Rihanna’s new project, tentatively titled R8, are suggesting that the “Diamonds” singer has scrapped all previously completed work on the album in favor of chasing an edgier sound.

A source close to Rihanna reveals to Mirror UK, “Rihanna is desperate for an edgy sound that will appeal to a European market as well as America.”

The source continues, “She’s keen to emulate the smash-hit success she had with Calvin Harris’ ‘We Found Love’ in 2011. So far she doesn’t feel the song she has are delivering the full package. Her people have put in calls with the best songwriters on their books and requested they drop everything to help.”

The source further notes, “Usually writing camps are set up where hundreds of songwriters are invited to spend a few days coming up with tracks for her. This time they’ve gone direct to guaranteed hit-markers as there’s no time to waste.”

While neither Chris Brown, nor Rihanna have confirmed rumors of a collaboration, do you think Brown is planning to surprise fans with a Rihanna feature on his new album?
