‘Arrow’ Season 4 Bringing Back Canceled ‘Constantine’? Plus A ‘True Blood’ Alum Joins The Cast

Despite a short-lived run on NBC, fans of the show Constantine will be excited to learn that Matt Ryan isn’t going to gone for very long. In fact, Matt Ryan will be returning in a guest role as Constantine in Season 4 of The CW’s Arrow.

According to Movie Pilot, producers have signed on Ryan to appear as a guest in the new season of the hit show. Although producers stated that Ryan would only be included in one episode, there is some evidence that his role will be expanded on at a later time.

Along with the fact that CW is launching a new superhero inspired show in Legends of Tomorrow, Ryan’s guest slot on Arrow might be a way that producers keep his story going while setting him up for a possible larger story arc later down the road. Additionally, the show has expressed the view that they want to add more supernatural elements to the series, which Constantine could certainly fulfill.

Meanwhile, as Arrow enters its fourth season, an old character is set to return to the series. According to Venture Capitol Post, Emily Bett Rickards will be reprising her role as Felicity when Arrow returns to television this fall.

As many fans may remember, Felicity is the humorous IT worker who made multiple appearances in past seasons, but saw a decrease in showings in Season 3 as the show turned to a darker tone. However, with producers wanting to lighten things up in Season 4, Felicity is set to return to her comedic ways and play a larger part in the show.

In conjunction with adding humor to the series, another part of her storyline that will be expanded on is Felicity’s relationship with Oliver. In regards to Oliver being able to be in a healthy relationship with Felicity, Marc Guggenheim recently revealed that a relationship with Felicity will be difficult for Oliver to manage.

“But can [he] do it while also a vigilante? That’s going to be the two things pulling at him throughout the year,” he stated.

In addition to Rickards return, the new season will also see a number of new characters, including one played by Rutina Wesley. MStarz is reporting that True Blood alum Wesley will play Liza Warner in the new season, who is also known in the DC Comics’ world as Lady Cop.

Season 4 of Arrow is set to premiere on October 8 on The CW.
