Now That ‘GTA V’ Has Shipped Over 54 Million Units, Rockstar Games Wants You To Try These Online Playlists

In a public SEC filing from Take-Two Interactive, it was revealed that Grand Theft Auto V has now shipped over 54 million units to date. In fact, the Rockstar Games developed franchise continued to perform like an unstoppable force as the entire series has now moved more than 220 million copies in total.

Despite first releasing nearly two years ago, GTA V has managed to stay on sales charts thanks to seeing staggered launches across different platforms. After initially only being available on last-gen consoles, the game later came to Xbox One and Playstation 4 in 2014, followed by a PC launch earlier this year.

Bringing GTA V to new systems over time has likely helped keep the title relevant in combination with the games regularly-updated online mode. Now that gamers can even make their own GTA Online missions, it is now easier than ever to find more content for the game. In addition to being able to make their own competitive jobs using the built-in mission creation tools within Grand Theft Auto V‘s online multiplayer mode, users can also create their own playlists that bundle all of their favorite missions together.

Similar to how Rockstar Games frequently shares what they consider to be the best user-made missions in GTA Online, the developer also sometimes promotes these custom playlists within the entire community. Since players can share their compiled playlists for other GTA V players to enjoy, Rockstar Games has now designated three playlists designed by GTA Online fans that they feel every player should try out.

Gamers can put any mission available in GTA Online to build their own playlist. While the user that created the playlist isn’t necessarily responsible for having made any of the missions contained within, Rockstar Games explains that they feel that it takes some creativity to make a successful playlist. Detailing their choices on the Rockstar Newswire, the developer showed off some of the new favorite community-built playlists.

“We’ve been scouring the Social Club to find those who are using Playlists in ways that a single Job could not hope to emulate. Below we’ve highlighted a trio of exemplary Playlists to check out (one for Xbox 360 & Xbox One, one for PC and one for PS3 & PS4). And just like with individual Jobs, you can bookmark these Playlists on [the] Social Club so that the next time you jump into GTA Online, they’ll be waiting.”

Rockstar Games points how each of the selections provide examples of how fans can use playlists inside Grand Theft Auto V to link together a series of similarly themed online missions. For example, the Z-Games Rallycross Tournament playlist includes several different races near Los Santos’ Maze Bank that feature plenty of drifting turns.
