‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’ — Treyarch Adding New Map, Mode, And Raised Level Cap

Call of Duty: Black Ops III multiplayer beta only went live on August 19 for PlayStation 4, as revealed by the Inquisitr, but Treyarch have already announced new additions to the beta mode, including a level cap increase, a new map, and a new mode.

As reported by VG24/7, Treyarch announced that the beta will introduce the following content to players on August 21 at 10 a.m. PDT / 1 p.m. EDT.

  • New mode – Uplink – A mode familiar to Advanced Warfare players (taking total number of modes to eight).
  • New map – Stronghold (taking total number of maps to four).
  • New level cap – Increased from 28 to 34. Reaching this level allows you to unlock new items like the Reaper Specialist, VMP SMG, Power Core scorestreak, and the H.A.T.R. scorestreak.

According to Gamespot, Treyarch senior design director David Vonderhaarhas commented that less than 10 percent of Black Ops III multiplayer beta players have reached the current level cap. The content additions are no surprise since Treyarch hinted at such content before the launch even took place. Users should make the most of their playtime though — their progress will not transfer to the full game on its release.

The Black Ops III multiplayer beta for PS4 runs through until August 23, with Xbox One and PC users receiving access for five days between August 26-30. The first Call of Duty beta held in many years will not feature on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
