Johnny Depp: Rocks Out, Plays Pirate And Now The Face Of Dior- Triple Threat [Video]

It is no secret that Johnny Depp is one talented and admired actor. The star has portrayed some of the most interesting, quirky, and deep-rooted characters within the world of film. And although Depp focuses much of his efforts on his craft of acting and bringing such characters to life, the man has a multitude of talents and interests aside from playing the starring role in blockbusters.

While filming the latest installment for the Pirates of the Caribbean, Depp has made sure to let loose and remind the world of his love for music by joining the likes of Kiss’ Gene Simmons and Guns n’ Roses’ Gilby Clarke on stage for charity. Rolling Stone relays how Johnny took on the six-string for the event.

“No stranger to the six-string, Depp gamely kept pace with Clarke on ‘Deuce,’ swapping leads and throwing in some flourishes during the second verse. While Clarke handled the majority of the pure shredding on, Depp helped close out the track with some able traipsing of his own up and down the fretboard.”

Watch Johnny and the rock legends collaborate for a great cause.

Additionally, the Edward Scissorhands talent has taken on the role of the new face for Dior. Depp certainly has the look of an editorial model and is known for the brooding and lingering stares that are necessary and fitting for such a campaign. Dior has chosen wisely.

As International Business Times shares, this is the first campaign Depp has been a part of for the French fashion house. Dior has released a teaser video involving the handsome 52-year-old star, and it markets the new fragrance by the haute-couture house called Dior Sauvage. The fragrance will be available around the globe on September 2, 2015.

The video teaser features a voiceover by Depp, which includes a fitting rock-based soundscape.

“Set to rock and roll guitar music, the short film shows Los Angeles by night. In the 13-second teaser, Depp says in a brooding voice that he ‘needs to get out of here.’ But he does not know which way. It does not show the actor. Dior ads in the past have always shown a dramatic escape in the end.”

Shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino-known for being the genius behind six of Madonna’s music videos- the talent shared that he wanted to “break free from urban city chaos,” and, therefore, selected a desert environment to capture Depp for the campaign.
