Julianne Hough Opens Up About Engagement To Pro Hockey Player

Julianne Hough is still basking in the glow of her recent engagement news, so it was only inevitable that she would share some minor details about what her future looks like as an engaged woman.

As the Inquisitr reported, Hough got engaged to professional hockey player Brooks Laich, and excitedly announced the news on Tuesday in an Instagram post. At the time she captioned the photo of she and her main man, “We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement! #fiance #love”

Now that the shock is wearing off Hough is sharing a few details with her followers on Instagram. According to E!, Hough took to Instagram once again to let fans know about her wedding adventures.

“What a week it’s been! I’m just so happy and feeling so loved from all of you, and wanted to give you a quick update on everything. I can’t wait to share our wedding planning adventures with you over the next few months — you guys always give the best advice! Check my post today and stay tuned!”

The Dancing with the Stars judge wrote on her blog to thank those that have been wishing her well.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of love and well wishes surrounding my engagement! This is certainly one of the most exciting times in my life and I am so happy to share it with you all!

“That said, I’m going to take a slight social media time out to enjoy this special time with my fiance (!)… When I return to writing in a few days, I promise some exclusive details and pics just for you, so stay tuned!”

Hough met Laich in 2013 after her break up from long time boyfriend Ryan Seacrest. The two met through mutual friend and actor, Teddy Sears. While on D.C. radio station 106.7 The Fan, the pro hockey player dished on how their relationship came to be.

“[Sears] was talking with Julianne … and then asked her if she’d been seeing anyone, and she said no or whatever. And I guess he was watching our hockey game … on Game Center on his iPad. I guess he just showed her the iPad and said, ‘Well I’ve got a guy for you,’ or something.”

He continued to gush about his then girlfriend, “She’s just a sweetheart, very loving, very giving. She puts so much great out into the world. I’m a pretty lucky guy.”
