Trayvon Martin Gun Targets Sold By Florida Entrepreneur

Trayvon Martin look-alike gun range targets are apparently the latest fad in supporting the idea that George Zimmerman is innocent.

According to Huffington Post, the description of the product, which is for sale on a popular firearms auctioning website states:

“Everyone knows the story of Zimmerman and Martin. Obviously we support Zimmerman and believe he is innocent and that he shot a thug. Each target is printed on thick, high quality poster paper with a matte finish! The dimensions are 12?x18? ( The same as Darkotic Zombie Targets) This is a Ten Pack of Targets.”

The seller, identified as “hillerarmco” from Virgina Beach, Va., told Orlando’s WKMG news team that:

“The response is overwhelming…I sold out in two days.”

The paper targets are currently being sold in packs of 10 for $8.

According to Click Orlando, one firearm owners association website member stated:

“Even though I fully believe Zimmerman was justified in shooting, Trayvon was still a human being and does not deserve that kind of disrespect in death.”

Mark O’Mara, George Zimmerman’s attorney told WKMG that the targets were incredibly offensive. He said:

“This is the highest level of disgust and the lowest level of civility,” O’Mara said. “It’s this type of hatred — that’s what this is, it’s hate-mongering — that’s going to make it more difficult to try this case.”

Natale Jackson, attorney for Trayvon Martin’s family, stated that:

“It’s a sad certain segment of our society that would think you could make a profit off the killing of a teenage boy.”

WKMG reports that the seller’s “main motivation was to make money off the controversy.” Online advertisements were taken down by Friday.
