Fake Candidate Deez Nuts Commands 9 Percent Of North Carolina Voter Support
The Inquisitr has previously reported on WelvenDaGreat and his viral YouTube video where he can be heard exclaiming “Deez Nuts” into a telephone while speaking with what appears to be a customer service agent.
Continuing his wild fame among young adults, Welven’s Deez Nuts meme has inspired a presidential candidate. According to reports from the Daily Beast, a 15-year-old from Iowa named Brady Olson entered the fictional Deez Nuts as a candidate. Deez Nuts currently holds 9 percent of voter support in North Carolina.
Olson was quoted with regard to the Deez Nuts candidate, “When I heard about the Limberbutt McCubbins story, I realized I could.” Olson submitted the Deez Nuts paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on July 26.

The poll was conducted by Public Policy Polling. Potential voters were asked, “Do you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Deez Nuts?” A full 6 percent of those surveyed indicated that they have a favorable opinion of Deez Nuts, a fictional person.
A second question asked, “If the candidates for President next year were Democrat Hillary Clinton, Republican Donald Trump, and independent Deez Nuts who would you vote for?” Again, perhaps astonishingly, a full 9 percent of respondents indicated that they would vote for Deez Nuts.
According to Brady Olson, the next step for the Deez Nuts campaign is to “Get some nominations like the Minnesota Independence Party or the Modern Whig Party. It would also be great to find a VP, preferably McCubbins because the Nuts/McCubbins ticket sounds amazing.”
The very fact that fictional candidates like Deez Nuts can find support among voters has been met with disbelief. Jim Williams with Public Policy Polling stated, “It started because somebody emailed us under the name Deez Nuts. He said, ‘I’m Deez Nuts. I’m running. Here’s my filing statement. Would you poll me?’ I thought, ‘Let’s put this out. This’ll be funny.”
Christina Hilland, the FEC deputy press officer, explained that anyone can fill out Form 2. When Olson submitted his Deez Nuts Form 2 all that was required was his mailing address and that he was independent. The Daily Beast reports a long list of fictional candidates joining Nuts, including: Sydneys Vuluptuous Buttocks, Kenny Rodeo, Eden, and Ole’ Savior, who apparently, has also run previously.
Williams with Public Policy Polling continued, “I think having Trump as part of the poll helps push that number up because it leaves room for the non-hardcore Republicans who are not going to get on board with Donald Trump. The polls are pretty long. By the time we drop Deez Nuts on them, they’re pretty deep into the poll. The jokes write themselves.”
