Brock Lesnar On Ronda Rousey: ‘She’s A Man Amongst Women In A Weak Women’s Division’

From early 2008 to late 2011, Brock Lesnar was one of the two most popular fighters in the UFC, and for a short amount of time, he looked unbeatable. In fact, there are some who believe that if Lesnar remained healthy throughout his mixed-martial-arts career, he would have been the most dominant heavyweight in the history of the sport.

Ronda Rousey may have surpassed Brock Lesnar in terms of popularity, and she’s currently one of the most dominant fighters the UFC has ever seen, much like Lesnar was for a short period of time.

Lesnar did several interviews with ESPN on Tuesday, as he was promoting this Sunday’s WWE event where he’ll be taking on The Undertaker. Lesnar was eventually asked about Ronda Rousey, and while Lesnar is impressed with the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, he hasn’t been impressed with her competition, saying that “She’s a man amongst women in a weak women’s division.”

“I think she’s a super athlete in a weak division, I really do. I think she is a man amongst women in the women’s division, and I take my hat off to her. She’s doing an excellent job at what she’s doing.”

“I don’t know how she’s juggling everything — movies and this, that and the other thing, going to Brazil and kicking butt over there and doing all the stuff she’s doing. My hat’s off to you, Ronda.”

“I’m not taking any talent away from her at all. But I think she’s a super beast, a super freak in the women’s division.”

Some have criticized the caliber of Rousey’s opponents, and those people are going to continue to do so leading up to her next fight, as she’s fighting Miesha Tate, who she has already beaten in convincing fashion twice. But Rousey can only fight who the UFC puts in front of her, so the quality of her opponents isn’t her fault.

There’s still hope out there that Rousey will eventually fight Cris “Cyborg” at some point in the near future, possibly at UFC 200 next summer. Cyborg has said that she’s doing everything possible to make a fight with Rousey happen.

In the past, the one thing that has stopped the super-fight between the two dominant women from happening is weight. Cyborg is in a higher weight-class than Rousey, and she was always convinced that she wouldn’t physically be able to drop down to Rousey’s weight, but now she believes that she can.

If Cyborg is able to make the weight, Rousey will finally have the opportunity to put the idea that she’s never beaten anyone of significance to bed.
