Watch England Vs. Australia Ashes Cricket Live Online: 5th Test As England Go For Dominant 4-1 Win

Cricket fans can once again watch live online as England attempts to “put the foot on the throat” of Australia — in the words of England spinner Moeen Ali — as the two arch-rivals contest the Fifth and final Test Match of the 2015 Ashes Series starting Thursday morning.

The Ashes trophy already belongs to England after their ringing victory in the Fourth Test almost two weeks ago. But England Captain Alastair Cook is calling on his team to go for a history-making fourth victory in the series, which would not only put an exclamation point on England’s superiority this time around — after losing the Ashes in a humiliating 5-0 whitewash on Australian soil just 18 months ago — but would also set a record as the first four-win home Ashes series in England cricket history.

To find out how to watch the Fifth England vs. Australia Ashes Test live online, see the streaming information at the bottom of this article. First ball on Day One of the match is scheduled for 11 a.m. local time on Thursday, August 20, at Kia Oval in south London — 6 a.m. United States Eastern Time, 3 a.m. Pacific.

Much has transpired since England’s Mark Wood took the final wicket of the Fourth Test way back on August 8 — most of it in the Australia camp. The Baggy Green’s captain, Michael Clarke, announced that he would retire following the Fifth Test, and top-order batsman Chris Rogers also said he would hang up his bat.

Meanwhile, the Australian press was rife with recriminations over the stunning and unexpectedly one-sided defeat, even blaming the Australian players’ wives and girlfriends, many of whom are traveling with the team on the England Ashes tour, for causing a distraction for the players.

Others blamed the rise of T20 cricket for instilling bad habits in Australia’s batsmen, an overly aggressive approach that led to repeated poor shot selection and easily surrendered wickets.

Of course, no one made either argument when Australia blew away West Indies in two matches held on Caribbean pitches in June, by nine wickets and 277 runs.

Nonetheless, England are approaching the Fifth Test with every intention of kicking Australia when they’re down.

“Cooky called us all on Tuesday, to say, ‘Let’s make sure we turn up knowing that we’re in a battle and that we want to start again, Because I’ve got a burning desire for this to be 4-1,” said seamer Stuart Broad, who opened the Fourth Test by blasting Australian batsmen for eight wickets against just 15 runs.

“Australia are ruthless when they get on top. We want that same tag. No one wants us to be an enjoyable team to play against, and we want to hammer that home,” Broad said.
