Jessa Duggar Isn’t Enjoying Pregnancy As Much As Jill Because She Won’t Get To Give Birth On TV

Jessa Duggar is truly the Jan Brady to Jill Duggar’s Marcia Brady. Jill got to share her baby joy with millions of people by giving birth on TV, but poor Jessa didn’t even get a televised baby shower.

According to PEOPLE, Jessa Duggar is having a hard time enjoying her pregnancy because she realizes just how much her experience will differ from Jill’s. Jessa expected a TLC camera to be there when she went shopping for baby furniture and when her water broke, but now she won’t be sharing these moments with millions of people — she has to settle for sharing them with husband Ben Seewald and her massive family. Many Duggar fans are probably just as distraught as Jessa is — because of the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting, they’re getting a more limited look inside Jessa’s life as an expectant mother.

“It is now bittersweet, because it’s not lost on [Jessa] that Jill giving birth to Israel got an entire TLC special devoted to it,” a source close to the Duggar family told PEOPLE.

Life must seem extremely unfair to Jessa Duggar right about now. Jill got so much that she won’t get, and she’s no longer a television star because of something her brother did — TLC cancelled 19 Kids and Counting a few weeks after Josh Duggar confessed to sexually molesting five girls. Jessa was one of Josh’s victims, so who can blame the girl if she feels like her situation is a cruel cosmic joke?

Being a reality show star was Jessa Duggar’s only job, and she’s been talking to cameras since she was a young child. Because 19 Kids and Counting was such a huge part of her life, it’s probably hard for her to act as if nothing has changed by continuing to share pregnancy updates on social media and encouraging her fans to interact with her by asking them to guess the sex of her baby. Unfortunately, Jessa knows that each of her Instagram photos will be flooded with comments about Josh Duggar.

“The show isn’t there to chronicle this happy time, and even though she’s posting on social media, the scandal still gets brought up by commenters. So much has changed for Jessa compared to what Jill experienced, and it can’t be changed back. And that’s sad for her.”

Jessa Duggar’s relationship with PEOPLE magazine has also changed. Back in April, Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald were happy to share with the publication their feelings about becoming parents.

“We are so excited,” Jessa said. “I said, ‘Hey Ben, guess what? Yeah, you’re a dad.’ We couldn’t believe it.”

The Duggars used to give PEOPLE exclusive interviews all the time, and the Duggar daughters even appeared in the magazine’s “Most Beautiful” issue. However, now PEOPLE only seems to get quotes from unnamed sources or the Duggars’ social media pages.

Now that they no longer have a show to promote, the Duggars probably don’t see the point of talking to the press. However, Jessa Duggar could still be giving interviews and spending quality time with the TLC camera crews if her dad wasn’t such an attention hog. As the Inquisitr previously reported, a TLC insider claimed that the network wanted to offer Jessa and Jill their own spinoff series. However, Jim Bob turned down the offer because he wouldn’t be featured on the show.
