‘Toy Story 4’: Latest News On Woody’s Love Story, Favorite Original Cast Members Return

Toy Story 4 might still be almost two years away from complete realization, but the buzz it is already creating is a testament to the love the franchise has been able to garner since its first movie released a couple of decades ago.

And this is despite the fact that Toy Story 3 tied up the franchise quite neatly, with almost a generation of fans not expecting a further installment to hit the screens anytime in the near future. But then, those same fans were left rejoicing when Disney announced plans for Toy Story 4 in November last year, and now with more than eight months after the initial disclosure, we have some more news about what fans can expect from the latest installment.

This past week John Lasseter, Disney’s chief, excited fans when he revealed that Toy Story 4 will see Woody romancing Bo Peep! Yes, the same Bo Peep who often got Woody flustered in the first two Toy Story installments, but went strangely missing in the third part of the franchise. Speaking to CNBC, Lasseter also talked about why they believe Toy Story 4 will be as good as the original movie.

“It’s a love story with Woody and—and this is news—Bo Peep… At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that’s as good or better than the original. That’s our rule. We don’t do things just to print money.”

Well said, John!

Now while that is great news for us and for Woody, Cinema Blend found out who else among the other adorable toy characters will be making a comeback in Toy Story 4.

Kristen Schaal, who voiced the blue plastic Trixie in Toy Story 3, will definitely feature alongside Woody and Bo Peep. Though she did not reveal much about her character in Toy Story 4, Schaal did confirm that she was thrilled to be working again with Disney.

“Yeah, Trixie is going to be returning… I have no details at all. They just told me I was back and I was thrilled.”

We would love to know who else will be returning in Toy Story 4.

There have also been rumors surrounding social media that Tom Hanks will reprise his role as Woody, while Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear) and Joan Cusack (Jessie) will also feature in Toy Story 4, though these reports remain unconfirmed as of this moment.

But we certainly hope they are true!
