Britney Spears Reveals She’s A ‘Swiftie,’ Gushes About Taylor Swift
Britney Spears is the next celebrity who wants to join Taylor Swift’s squad. The pop princess revealed that she was s a huge fan of the country-turned-pop singer.
Like Swift, Spears has ruled the music charts and radio airwaves during her prime. Taylor Swift’s 1989 album sold 1.287 million units in its first week. Still, it wasn’t enough to touch Britney Spears’ record for having the highest sales debut for a female artist. Her “Oops…I Did It Again” album sold 1.325 million copies in its first week.
Who knew that the legendary pop star who spawned sexy hits like “…Baby One More Time” and “Slave 4 U” would become such a huge Swiftie? During her recent interview, Spears revealed that she’s a huge fan of the “Bad Blood” singer.
“I love Taylor Swift. I think she’s adorable. I love her music. Her music makes me so happy. She’s very level-headed. She’s a very, very smart girl, very wise.”
Both Britney and Taylor were honored at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, Aug. 16. Taylor picked up four awards, including Female Choice Summer Music Star. Meanwhile, Britney received the Candie’s Choice Style Icon award.
Unfortunately for Britney Spears and Taylor Swift fans, the “Wildest Dreams” singer wasn’t in attendance since she’s currently on her 1989 World Tour. Swift has been making headlines for bringing out surprise guests and performances in the middle of her concerts. So fans can hold out hope to see Spears make an appearance at one of Taylor Swift’s upcoming concerts.
On the other hand, Taylor Swift may make an appearance at Britney: Piece of Me. Swift has revealed in past interviews that she was a huge fan of the pop star back in the day. Now that Taylor has officially crossed into pop music, she can see how pop’s princess moves!
As for Britney, she says that she’s “torn” about leaving Las Vegas. Rumors are swirling that the “Pretty Girls” singer may not renew her contract for her residency at The Axis at Planet Hollywood.
“I’m not really sure. I haven’t made up my mind. I really love doing the show. It’s a lot, a lot of fun but I’m kind of torn up right now. I don’t really know what I want to do.”
Spears has been in the studio making music, which means she could be releasing a new album instead. The performer revealed that she was having fun making “cheeky” music lately. Spears also hinted that she’s working with a team of women this time around.
“We’re having fun right now. I’m working with some women who are amazing writers. I have ballads and, of course, dance music — fun cheeky sexy stuff.”
