Harry Connick Jr.’s Daughter Arrested: Georgia Connick Arrested For Providing Alcohol To Minors

Harry Connick Jr.’s daughter has been arrested.

According to People Magazine, Georgia Connick, 19, the daughter of the actor and American Idol judge, was allegedly arrested after providing alcohol to minors at a recent house party at her family’s New Canaan, Connecticut, home.

Police told NBC News that Georgia had been having a party while her parents, Harry Connick Jr. and his wife, Jill Goodacre, were away on August 15. A concerned neighbor later called the authorities at around 1 a.m. to report underage drinking. When the police arrived at the home, they saw a group of young people running into the woods. Upon entering the home, the police discovered many empty, and partially empty, beer cans.

WTNH News 8 reports that Georgia Connick is being charged with with permitting minors to possess alcohol and procuring alcohol for minors. She says she intended on only having a small gathering when swarms of people started showing up unannounced. Fifteen party guests between the ages of 18 and 20 stayed at the home while the police, who contacted their parents, were there.

Harry Connick Jr. issued a statement on Tuesday, August 18, regarding his daughter being arrested. “This is a private matter which we are dealing with as a family,” he said in the statement. “We have no further comments. Thank you for understanding.”

Following Georgia’s arrest, she was released on the promise that she would appear at the Norwalk Superior Court on September 2. There is no mugshot for the 19-year-old because this was a summons arrest, and she was never actually taken into custody.

Harry wasn’t home at the time of the party because he was in Philadelphia for auditions for the upcoming 15th and final season of American Idol. It is not currently known where Georgia’s mother, Jill Goodacre, was when she was having her gathering.
