Days of Our Lives fans are about to see some big changes in Salem. Not only are the adult characters being shuffled in and out of town, but the children are changing as well.
According to Soap Opera Network, a brand new teen scene is about to be unveiled on Days of Our Lives and viewers will see characters who used to be small children rapidly age into teenagers. Ciara Brady, Chase Jennings, Theo Carver, Joey Johnson, and Claire Brady will all be making their teenage debut in the coming months.
It all starts this month with the debut of actor James Lastovic as Joey Johnson, the son of Dr. Kayla Brady and Steve “Patch” Johnson. Teen Joey will first appear on August 28, and he’ll bring with him his long gone father, Steve, also known as “Patch,” for the eye patch that he wears.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Patch will return with Joey, who has run away from his home in Salem, and his mother Kayla. Steve’s return will kick off a new beginning of Days of Our Lives, as the new writers story lines begin, along with the return of characters, which is all leading up to the big 50th anniversary celebration in November.
In October, Hope Brady’s daughter, Ciara Brady, will become a teenager along with Aiden Jennings son, Chase Jennings. Hope’s daughter is rapidly aged just in time for her father, Bo Brady, to return to Salem after more than a 2 year absence, and November will see Theo Carver and Claire Brady as teens.
Claire will return back to Salem as a teenager with her parents, Belle Black and Shawn Brady, who have been gone from Days of Our Lives for years. Recently, Ken Corday spoke out about the aging of the young children in Salem.
“By aging these children into young adults, we’re making them more relatable to our audience and more dramatically exciting. These are not ancillary characters, but young leads. None of them will be a goody two-shoes. Each is somewhat flawed.”
Meanwhile, more big things are coming for the NBC soap. A big murder mystery story line is about to unfold. Many characters in Salem such as Aiden Jennings, Paige Larsen, Xander Cooke, Serena Mason, Clyde Weston, and Daniel Jonas, are rumored to be leaving the show, and it seems that any one of them could fall victim to the town’s new murderer.
Entertainment Weekly reveals that the murder plot begins in late August, and will come to a head in November, during the soap’s big 50th anniversary, so be ready for some drama.
