Terrence Howard and Mira Pak split last year. And now, Terrence’s complicated history of relationships has a new layer, with the news that even as Howard battles in court with his second wife, his third wife, Mira Pak, went through with the process of divorcing him, reported MSN.
Terrence’s and Mira’s son, Qirin, was born in May, but Pak worked on the divorce in March during her pregnancy.
Howard and Mira, according to her divorce petition, have irreconcilable differences. In Pak’s divorce paperwork, she described the date of their separation as August, 2014, which aligns with the conception of the first child for Terrence and his third wife.
Howard expressed his frustration that all of this became known to the public.
“Sad that this has to be on a public forum,” said Terrence. “To have your personal life exposed between family and shared with the public, I think is a violation of our privacy, and of our constitutional rights. It needs to be reformed.”
All of the secret divorce filings, which include Mira seeking joint custody of Qirin with Howard, became public knowledge while Empire actor Terrence is in the middle of a battle over spousal support with his second ex-wife, reported the Los Angeles Times.
Howard and Michelle Ghent are duking it out because he contends extortion on her part. Because even previously well-hidden secrets tend to emerge during such hearings, it also became public knowledge that Howard has four divorces in the past now, after marrying, divorcing, re-marrying, and then divorcing again Lori McCommas, his first wife.
Terrence urged that the 2012 divorce settlement with Ghent be declared invalid. Howard claims that although the settlement provides Michelle with both some of his Empire money and spousal support, he’s terming it extortion because he says his second ex-wife told him that if he refused to agree to that level of payment, she would make public potentially embarrassing personal details, including recordings.
With closing statements on Monday, the judge planned to take about seven days prior to announcing in which spouse’s favor he would rule.
The news about Terrence’s and Mira Pak’s divorce is far from the only celebrity divorce announcement shocker of 2015.
One of the most high profile ones turned out to be the divorce of Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, as the Inquisitr reported.
In their public statement on the subject, Miranda and Blake echoed Terrence Howard’s words in seeking privacy.
Shelton and Lambert issued a traditional statement as a couple.
“This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
