Machete Vs. Sword: Thieves With A Machete Get Chased Away By Sword-Wielding Store Worker [Video]

It probably wasn’t the response expected when two would-be robbers tried to rob a store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Looking threatening dressed in all black with their faces covered, the two thieves probably thought that carrying a machete would intimidate the store clerk. However, the Pennsylvania convenience store worker got the best of the machete-wielding thieves when he reached behind the counter and pulled out a large sword with a huge, swashbuckling, curved blade and chased them out of the store.

The two machete-carrying teenagers tried to get away with a couple of shirts, but dropped it all when running away from the super sword. No one was hurt — and M.C. Hydare, brother to the now-famous sword-slinging clerk — was present at the time of the robbery. He had a message for the two thieves, who haven’t yet been found by cops. And no, that message isn’t “don’t bring a machete to a sword fight,” although it would be apropos. Instead, he wants the thieves to find honest work.

“I just want to give a message to them: don’t try this. You can have money in a better way. Not this. Please stay away. Go and find work somewhere.”

The robbers that brought a machete were two males, reports WKBN, and a sword wasn’t the only weapon that could’ve been pulled out from behind the counter. The masked men could’ve faced a gun after invading the Perry Market on Perrysville Avenue. Instead of getting the money they demanded around 10 p.m. Friday evening, they were met with a huge sword — used to scare the men — and not the gun the clerk says he could’ve used on them.

One teen was approximately 6 feet tall, and weighed around 160 pounds. He donned black pants and a hoodie while the other thief — who came behind the counter before running away — sported a ski cap that was red. Both of the teens had knives, one of which was aimed at a customer.

“Then when he hit the sword that the dude had in his hand — my brother hit the sword — he ran away.”

Although one of the teen robbers was nabbed by the customer who got a knife pointed at him or her, the teen was able to break away and flee.

As reported by the Inquisitr, another YouTube video going viral on Tuesday besides the machete versus sword video is called “Baby Loves Cat.”
