The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System reports that there are currently more than 160 cases of missing people in the state of Maryland. Of those numerous disappearances, which remain unsolved, more than 70 of those cases involve women and young girls. Many of the cases range from the years 1959 to as recently as this week. Of course, there is absolutely no indication that Paiten’s disappearance is at all related to any of the other numerous cases in the state of Maryland. Furthermore, it’s not known at this time if her disappearance was voluntary or the result of foul play. Hopefully, more information comes out to clarify the details of this case.
There are also other high profile cases in the state of Maryland involving missing pregnant women. One such case involves missing mom Bethany Decker. The 21-year-old mother of one was expecting her second child when she vanished in 2011. It’s been more than four years, and Bethany Decker still hasn’t been found. Meanwhile, the public appears to suspect her husband, mostly because of the rumors and twists that have come up in her case — including affairs and a strange letter she had written before disappearing.
