Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe affirmed their best friend status by enjoying a date night just for the girls in the wake of Miranda’s divorce from Blake Shelton. Lambert and Ashley dressed up in their most glamorous country western attire for their fun evening, reported People.
Monroe and Miranda have been together since the start of the famous Pistol Annies group. And although Lambert’s pals such as Ashley have helped her, the 31-year-old country crooner has been candid about the emotional pain she’s experienced.
“I wish I’ve been drinking all day. I deserve it: I just got divorced,” said Miranda at a recent country music festival.
Blake and Lambert were married for four years, and together for a decade.
“This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately,” said Shelton and Miranda in their official comment about the decision to divorce.
In addition to their girls’ night out, Miranda joined her BFF for a performance. Lambert and Ashley performed at a club in East Nashville, reported Us Weekly.
Monroe also was there to hype The Blade, her new album. Miranda initially showed her support in the audience before hopping onto the stage where Lambert and Ashley sung out their hearts in “Heart Like Mine.”
Monroe praised Miranda’s courage.
“It means a lot to me that [Lambert is] even up on stage with me,” said Ashley. “She’s a very brave person and I look up to her a lot for it.”
In their statement about their divorce, Blake and Miranda asked for privacy.
“We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
As the Inquisitr reported, Lambert recently rocked the red carpet at the Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) ceremony.
For the sixth consecutive year, Lambert took home the Female Vocalist trophy. She also earned Song of the Year for “Automatic,” and won Album of the Year for Platinum. Only George Strait is neck-and-neck with Miranda in that category for total wins.
And while winning all those awards, Miranda stunned the audience with her style. She recently lost approximately 50 pounds, and the ACM event gave her a reason to strut her newly slim body. How did she do it?
Lambert declined offers from weight loss companies to help her. Although it’s not always publicized, some diet companies do pay celebrities to use their weight loss programs in exchange for becoming ambassadors.
But Miranda was determined to do it her way without a formal weight loss program, she told Women’s Health.
As a result, Lambert has learned the meaning of moderation. For example, while she was tempted to eat a sandwich made of “egg yolks, bacon, and cheese” at lunch, she ordered a side of fruit with a tuna sandwich, minus those alluring French fries.
But Miranda admits she was hurt when those diet companies wanted to help her lose 40 pounds in exchange for becoming their spokeswoman.
“I’d think, ‘But I’m not obese. I’m only a size 8. I really don’t even need to lose 40 pounds. I thought I only needed to lose like 15, but now that you mention it, dang, I do look kind of bad! Thanks for bringing that to my attention, a**hole.’ “
