Selena Gomez Joins Taylor Swift At 1989 World Tour, Calls BFF ‘Inspirational’

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are reuniting once again. The “Good For You” singer confirmed that she’s going to join her best friend on stage at one of her upcoming 1989 World Tour stops.

There have been rumors swirling that Gomez, 22, is planning to join Swift, 25, on stage at one of her concerts. It looks like the rumors are in fact true. Swift has been showing off her many of her celebrity friends throughout much of her 1989 World Tour. So it makes sense that fans have been wondering when Gomez will finally make an appearance.

After all, the former Disney star just released her new single, “Good For You” and is set to release her second single, “Same Old Love,” off of her upcoming album, Revival.

Several media outlets reported that the singer and actress is going to make an appearance at one of Taylor’s concerts, in the near future. Finally, Selena herself has confirmed she’ll appear on stage with her famous BFF. The news was confirmed by U.K. radio station Capital FM.

Gomez spoke with the radio station on Sunday, August 16 about her exciting news of joining Swift on stage at the 1989 World Tour. After she spoke with the radio station, they tweeted: “It’s official @selenagomez WILL be joining @taylorswift13 on stage as a guest!! She just announced it!! #excited @thisismax x”

Although there hasn’t been any information as to when Selena will join Taylor on stage, an inside source told the Hollywood Life that the “Heart Wants What It Wants” singer will make an appearance in one of the upcoming Los Angeles tour stops.

According to the report, Taylor Swift’s LA leg of the tour will begin on Friday, August 21. The tour will continue on August 22, then again on August 24-26. Gomez is often seen on the West Coast these days, so if she’s around, she’s bound to make an appearance on Swift’s tour.

The last time that Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift performed together was during the “Bad Blood” singer’s Speak Now World Tour in New York City back in 2011. The pair got together to sing Gomez’s hit song “Who Says” and James Taylor’s “Fire and Rain.” Then the famous friends swapped out their mics for guitars and played Swift’s hit song “Fifteen.”

It was the very first time that Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift ever performed together.

Not only did Selena confirm the news that she’ll be joining her BFF on stage, but she also called Taylor an “incredible inspiration,” especially when it comes to her music career.

“Taylor’s just been such an incredible inspiration and she’s just like one of my biggest supporters and I don’t think the people know that as much as they think that she is.”

Swift made that apparent during Gomez’s emotional performance at the 2014 American Music Awards. The singer was seen applauding her dear friend, as she tried to keep it together. However, seen her friend cry made Gomez cry as well. Despite what critics say, it appears that Gomez and Swift’s friendship is for real.

“She has always wanted to see me find what makes me different and never forced her opinion too much; she would just tell me what she believed and what she thinks I should do and I’ve known her for eight years!

Some fans thought that Taylor was shedding crocodile tears during Selena’s performance but it seems like those tears were the real deal. Selena noted how her friend was “proud” of her that night.

“So it’s something that we’ve always kind of been in tune with and at the AMAs when I performed ‘The Heart Wants What It Wants’ she was like sobbing backstage and she’s like, ‘I’m so proud of you, that was everything I always wanted people to see about you’, and it’s just like really cool. She’s incredible.”
