Perrie Edwards and her Little Mix band mates were the talk of the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night, and it’s possible that Zayn Malik might be questioning his decision to dump Perrie after seeing how amazing she looked at the awards show.
E! News dubbed Perrie Edwards’ magical transformation from dorky duckling into elegant swan (well, her skirt did look like it was made from white feathers) a “revenge performance.” As the Inquisitr previously reported, Perrie’s ex, former One Direction singer Zayn Malik, recently dissed Little Mix by tweeting that rival girl group Fifth Harmony’s “Worth It” is better than Little Mix’s “Black Magic.”
After Zayn’s mean-spirited attempt to throw shade at his ex went viral, the hashtag #Zaynhasnochill started trending on Twitter. As it turns out, Perrie Edwards also has no chill — she looked red hot at the Teen Choice Awards. She and the other members of Little Mix proved that they weren’t deserving of Zayn’s diss by wowing the crowd with a bewitching performance of their hit single “Black Magic.” When the girls walked out on the stage, they all looked like hot messes. However, they used their black magic to transform into a sexy squad of singing sorceresses.
You can watch Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, and Leigh-Ann Pinnock give themselves magical makeovers in the video below.
Little Mix walked away with the Breakout Artist award at the TCAs, so maybe the girl group’s star is on the rise while Zayn’s is starting to wane. However, Malik did “win” one small victory — his favorite Fifth Harmony tune scored the Summer Song award. Fifthy Harmony also walked away with the Female Hottie and Female Artist surfboards. According to Us Weekly, Zayn Malik’s former One Direction band mates beat him in the Male Hottie category, and the remaining four members of the group won three other awards. Without Zayn, the boys also managed to score the Male Group, Summer Music Star Group, and Selfie Taker awards.
Winning the Breakout Artist Award and wowing the crowd at the TCAs probably made Perrie Edwards feel a bit better about her devastating breakup. It also might help that Taylor Swift recently invited her to join the One Direction exes’ club — Harry Styles’ mega-famous former flame welcomed Little Mix to her massive girl squad by performing “Black Magic” with them during her 1989 concert in Santa Clara, California. According to Gossip Cop, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, and Leigh-Ann Pinnock described performing with Taylor as “one of the best experiences in our little mix life.”
Now that Little Mix is starting to get so much buzz, do you think it’s possible that Perrie Edwards will actually become a bigger star than Zayn Malik?
