Nicki Minaj Teases New Project With Ice Cube, Rents Out Theater To Watch ‘Straight Outta Compton’

Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill may be busy preparing for the end of their The Pinkprint Tour this week, but that doesn’t mean the rap couple can’t take some time off to enjoy some private time together.

Minaj took to Instagram on August 15 to reveal to followers that she and boyfriend Meek rented out an entire movie theater to themselves so that they can watch Straight Outta Compton in private.

“When u & bae rent out the entire theatre to watch #StraightOuttaCompton with the team,” Minaj wrote alongside a photo of herself and Mill.

The movie, which is based on the lives of the members of N.W.A., was released to the public on Friday and has since shot straight to the top of the box office.

Gossip Cop reports that the film earned an estimated $56.1 million in its first weekend, tripling the $17 million earned by last week’s box office chart-topper, Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation.

In addition to Minaj revealing that she and Meek rented out a movie theater to themselves, Nicki also teases a new project with Ice Cube, who is portrayed by O’Shea Jackson Jr. in the film, Hip Hop DX reports.

“[S]o proud of Ice Cube. Can’t wait to reveal our lil secret,” Minaj wrote to her Instagram followers on Saturday.

While Minaj may have excited fans regarding a new project with Ice Cube, Minaj also made headlines for posting a twerking video to her Instagram account earlier this weekend.

Esquire reports that Minaj shared a video of herself twerking in front of beau Meek mill on Saturday, captioning the cute video with, “@meekmill I love how we spend our days off. Cheers to everyone living their lives and not being pressed.”

While Minaj received praise from her fans for sharing the video online, some fans alleged that the twerk video is Minaj’s way of boosting Meek’s ego after calling off his feud with Drake earlier this week.

Meek announced in a now-deleted Instagram post that he chose to remove his Drake diss track “Wanna Know” from SoundCloud because he doesn’t feel the need to prove himself to the Canadian rapper.

Despite Meek’s claims, Billboard reports that the “All Eyes On You” rapper’s decision to go head-to-head with Drake in a freestyle rap battle has hurt his album sales.

Just weeks after Meek Mill and Drake’s feud began, Drake saw a 12 percent increase in album sales and a 260 percent increase in song sales, while Meek saw a 45 percent decrease in his overall album sales and a 19 percent decrease in song sales during their duration of their Twitter spat.

While neither Meek nor Nicki have spoken out about the rapper’s decision to call off his feud to Drake, fans continue to blast the Philly rapper for accusing Drake of using a ghostwriter on his new album.
