Emily Blunt And Husband John Krasinski Share The Same Girl Crush

Emily Blunt has been a busy actress between promoting her latest action thriller Sicario and wrapping up filming on The Huntsman in which Blunt stars with Charlize Theron. Emily confesses that, after having spent so much time in the company of Theron, she has come away from her latest project with a girl crush.

“It was so much fun,” Blunt said of working with the talented cast of The Huntsman. “I loved working with all those people and Charlize is my new girl crush, for sure.”

Who could blame her? It seems everyone (with the questionable exception of Sean Penn) has eyes for Charlize Theron these days. Taking on high profile roles in Mad Max: Fury Road and Dark Places, as well as The Huntsman, Ms. Theron is expanding her exposure and appealing to audiences across multiple genres. Even Blunt’s own husband, John Krasinski, has admitted to crushing on Ms. Theron, though he says he can only confess to that with wife Emily’s permission.

“She’s my new girl crush, too,” said Krasinski, before adding, “She said I’m allowed to say that.”

As sweet as Ms. Blunt is on Charlize, she warns that she won’t give John a hall pass where Theron is concerned, or anyone else for that matter.

“You don’t have a pass yet,” Blunt said. “We’ll discuss that later.”

The Huntsman explores a sibling rivalry theme with Blunt playing opposite of Theron as the “evil younger sister.”

“There were two crowns on set and you don’t want that,” Emily added.

It seems Krasinski’s crush, much like Blunt’s girl crush, is based on more than admiration from afar, since the couple were invited to Theron’s 40th birthday party just a short time ago. Both John and Emily were dressed casually for Charlize’s birthday party, implying it was a low-key affair. Charlize may have planned the gathering to be kept small and reserved out of consideration for her newly adopted daughter, Autumn, who has only been a part of the Theron household for a month.

The Daily Mail reports that Emily Blunt has grown close to her co-star of The Huntsman, since filming on that project began. Although little is known at this time, the film is thought to be a prequel to Rupert Saunders’ re-imagining of Snow White and the Huntsman, which is said to focus on the Chris Hemsworth character.

The Huntsman is scheduled for an April 22, 2016, theatrical release.
