WWE Rumors: Updated NXT ‘Takeover: Brooklyn’ Card And Rumors For Event

WWE SummerSlam is only one week away, and it is turning into one of the biggest events of the year. But the whole weekend will be jam-packed. On the night before that big pay-per-view, NXT will have another huge live special with Takeover: Brooklyn, and the full card appears to be in place now, but there are lots of rumors swirling.

As of this past week, two more matches were confirmed and put in place for the NXT event. Wrestling Inc. reported that one of them will see the NXT Women’s Championship defended by Sasha Banks against Bayley.

Rumor has it that Bayley is finally going to get the big win and capture the title on a very grand stage. With Banks being brought up to the WWE main roster, it seems time for her to drop the title, and Bayley is truly deserving of it anyway.

Cageside Seats did report how Banks showed up this week at the NXT taping with the women’s title in hand, but it could be just a swerve by WWE. A storyline could be written in after the SummerSlam weekend is over.

The other big match is one that is going to see two behemoths battle it out in what is likely to be a brutal match.

Samoa Joe is going to take on Baron Corbin in a huge grudge match that is bound to tear the house down. It’s rumored that Joe will end up on the WWE main roster within the next month or two so this could be one of his final matches in developmental.

Another huge match will pit NJPW’s own Jushin “Thunder” Liger coming into NXT and taking on Tyler Breeze. This may not only be match of the night, but it has a chance of being the match of the whole weekend.

There is going to be a NXT Tag Team Title match pitting the Vaudevillains trying to capture the titles from Blake and Murphy. Again, this is going to be a very good match and has been built up huge in recent weeks.

Apollo Crews, formerly known as Uhaa Nation, is going to make his big debut for NXT. It’s likely going to be a quick squash that will showcase the strength and amazing agility from the big man.

The main event will be an NXT Title match, and it’s Finn Balor defending the title against Kevin Owens. On this week’s NXT tapings, Owens came out with the NXT Title and everyone thought that WWE may have spoiled the outcome of the main event, but again, it could just be a swerve.

NXT Takeover: Brooklyn is now less than a week away, and the card looks stacked from top to bottom. There a number of rumors flying around as to what could happen, but right now, everything is actually up in the air and anyone could win during SummerSlam weekend.
