‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops III’ Release Date, New Features In Latest COD Spin-Off

Activision’s Call Of Duty series has captivated fans worldwide with its realistic view of modern weaponry, putting the player behind the battle lines as they command nearly ever weapon imaginable. Perhaps even more of a hit is the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, where players get cash for completing assignments and can use their money to unlock new upgrades. Good news for fans of the series: a third Black Ops installment is on the way.

As the Christian Post discovered, Call of Duty: Black Ops III is available for pre-order now and will be sent as a beta token download starting August 19 at 3 a.m. Eastern for PS4 owners, and the same time on August 26 for those playing on Xbox One and PC.

The Black Ops beta codes are available online from Amazon and other retailers. The beta’s official site calls Black Ops III “the most ambitious Call of Duty: Zombies” game yet, and mentions that it will center around four characters named The Boxer, The Cop, The Femme Fatal, and The Magician. Call Of Duty: Black Ops III will also feature voice-overs from some big names, including Heather Graham as the Femme Fatal and Jeff Goldblum voicing the Magician. The four characters will have to fend off zombies in a twisted, terrifying town known as Morg City. There will also be a separate storyline entitled “The Giant” that focuses on alternate versions of the characters from the first story, “Shadows of Evil.”

GottaBeMobile.com mentioned that the Call of Duty Black Ops III beta will have seven modes and three maps, along with eight specialists with whom players can access. According to the official Call of Duty wiki, each specialist will have their own unique weapon.

Among the new introductions are Gravity Spikes, which allow players to blast enemies with a powerful shockwave; there is also a specialist weapon known as Tempest, which sends flying bolts of electricity at enemies for multiple kills at once. The site went on to say that players will experience downtime as Call of Duty:Black Ops developer Activision will occasionally have to take the game down for maintenance.

Additionally, the beta download is a massive 15 gb in size, so it will take some time to download no matter how new your console or device is. As Inquisitr mentioned, the full game of Call Of Duty: Black Ops III will allow players to use a split-screen mode so each player has their own screen in multiplayer mode.
