Earlier this week, Lana premiered her latest single “High By The Beach,” which is a follow-up to the title track from Honeymoon. She also premiered the music video on Thursday, Aug. 13. “High By The Beach” is the second official single from the Honeymoon LP.

Fans have been waiting for some music news from the pop chanteuse for some time now. Earlier this year, Del Rey announced that she was working on her third studio album with producer Mark Ronson. Back in July, the melancholy singer released the album’s track title “Honeymoon.” More details on Del Rey’s new album, including album artwork or a complete tracklist, has yet to be revealed. It’s been previously revealed via the Inquisitr, that Del Rey is collaborating with The Weeknd on his second studio album.

In the new video for her single “High By the Beach,” Lana Del Rey is back to her old retro self. The ethereal singer is singing as she saunters around her nearly-empty Malibu beach house, which has lead some to wonder if it’s her own home. Lana also wears a seductive silk robe and night gown as she sees a helicopter taking photos of her and preventing her from getting high by the beach.

One scene features Del Rey rolling around in bed as she tries her best to hide from the paparazzo. Then she ventures down the stairs to the kitchen as she disappointingly glances through a tabloid magazine. The paparazzo inside the helicopter inches closer to Del Rey’s home as she’s had enough.

The dreamy singer runs out of her beachfront home and onto the rocky beach side. Lana then pulls a massive bazooka gun out of a guitar case and shoots down the helicopter with just one shot. The singer momentarily regrets what she just did, as she puts her head down and pouts. Then both the song and video cuts out.

Lana Del Rey’s Honeymoon is a follow-up to her previous albums, Born to Die (2011) and Ultraviolence (2014). What are your thoughts on Del Rey’s new single and music video? Are you looking forward to experience the singer’s “honeymoon” period? Share your thoughts below in the comments section.
