Luke Skywalker Photo: Mark Hamill In ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Revealed

A much-anticipated first look at a Luke Skywalker photo shows Mark Hamill as the legendary Jedi in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

One of the hottest topics of conversation when it comes to Disney’s The Force Awakens, is what is going on with Luke Skywalker. No photos of the original character have been released and we keep hearing conflicting reports about what the hero has been up to the last 30 years.

Moreover, there has been no images of Hamill or his on-screen twin, Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and this has led to even more speculation about what exactly their roles will be in the next episode of the saga. Director J.J. Abrams is known for keeping his plots close to his vest and this is no different.

We are talking about Star Wars here, so more security measures were taken by the overzealous director, which included actors not being allowed to take scripts home, according to well-documented reports. Abrams also used colored paper to avoid possible leaks from on-set staff.

Luke Skywalker is at the center of the Star Wars original trilogy. Hamill’s epic character is key in the George Lucas storyline, but what is not clear is what are his circumstances on The Force Awakens.

Warning: Some spoilers could follow.

It was believed that Luke Skywalker was a hermit, much like Obi Wan Kenobi in A New Hope, and was living in a remote island, isolated from his friend Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and his sister, Leia. Hamill was spotted filming on the Irish Island, Skellig Michael, sporting a well-grown beard, which he carried for a while during production.

The new Luke Skywalker photo shows a bearded Hamill wearing a similar tunic than the one Alec Guiness wears as Obi Wan in A New Hope. The image was posted on Star Wars 7 News and is reportedly a leak, but of course we have no official confirmation.

Here is the long-awaited first Luke Skywalker photo from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

There have been no Luke Skywalker photos to speak of, only his voice narrating the events of the first full-length trailer, which was enough to make the fandom go wild with excitement. Despite the very cool image, we don’t really know much about what role Hamill’s character will have in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
