Billy Joel Welcomes Second Daughter At 66-Years-Old

Billy Joel is a new dad again. The 66-year-old “Uptown Girl” singer welcomed his second daughter with his wife Alexis Joel. According to Us Weekly, the couple’s rep said that the baby was born on August 12 in New York at around 2:40 a.m.

The proud parents decided to name their daughter Della Rose Joel. Back in April, the couple excitedly announced that they were expecting a child.

Billy Joel and his wife, Alexis Roderick, 33, started dating in 2009 after he split from wife Katie Lee. One of Joel’s longest relationships was with Elizabeth Weber Small, who he was with in the 1970s and 1980s.

When the couple decided to announce that they were expecting, details including the gender and the name were kept under wraps. At the time, their rep said that they wanted “to keep any further details of her pregnancy under wraps until their new addition makes an official debut.”

This wasn’t the only exciting news the couple has celebrated recently. As the Inquisitr reported, Billy and his wife were married this summer. The two surprised their guests at a Fourth of July cookout. Instead of passing around burgers, the couple hosted an impromptu wedding and exchanged vows. According to Joel’s rep, actor Kevin James, and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo were in attendance. In fact, Governor Cuomo actually officiated the wedding between the two.

As you may know, Billy Joel has a daughter named Alexa Ray Joel, 29, with ex-wife Christie Brinkley.

Back in June, the rocker talked about being a father again in his 60s. “Pretty wild, huh? I’ve still got the mojo. I’m excited!”

He continued, “I’m gonna spend a lot of time with this kid. I was thinking about that. I’m probably going to be able to spend more time with this kid than most people are able to spend with their children, because I don’t have a regular job. I could be a stay-at-home dad for as long as I can stay alive.”

As for being a parent to Alexa Ray Joel, he did say that he wished some things were different while Alexa was growing up. “I would like to have been around more because I was on the road for years and years when she was a little girl. And after Christie and I split up, she was in Colorado, so I missed out on some of her childhood, which I would like to have been there for. But now I have a chance to do it better…. Here I go again.”
