The league said it would not consider Auva’a’s bid for reinstatement until he underwent a violence prevention counseling program and displayed what was called a “behavioral change designed to prevent the recurrence of violent behavior toward women.”

That was last November — and now less than a year later those requirements have apparently been met to the league’s satisfaction because Auva’a traveled with the team to Queensland for the Thursday match and is expected to step in for Dylan Walker, who is down with a bad hamstring.
