Meghan Trainor Cancels Tour: ‘All About That Bass’ Singer Joins Sam Smith In Vocal Cord Hemorrhage Problem [Video]

Meghan Trainor is struggling with the news that she has experienced a vocal cord hemorrhage for the second time this summer. Meghan, who was on her MTrain tour, was forced to cancel as a result, reported MSN.

Trainor turned to Instagram to break the news to her fans and reveal her fear about the surgery that is needed to correct her problem.

“I have hemorrhaged my vocal cord again,” shared Meghan. “I will need to cancel the remainder of my tour and get surgery to finally fix this once and for all.”

Trainor, perhaps most famed for “All About That Bass,” was forthright about her fears and expressed her regret for having to cancel.

“Devastated, scared, and so sorry,” summed up Meghan of how she felt. “I am determined to do what it takes to get better and come back around stronger than ever.”

Meghan’s first hemorrhage occurred last month, and it also required her to postpone shows. But after the problem recurred when she was coughing following bronchitis, Trainor has accepted that she’s in need of surgery.

The same problem recently happened to Sam Smith, reported Rolling Stone.

Smith also was required to have vocal cord surgery and cancel the rest of his tour after he had a hemorrhage in Australia.

“I am very upset to announce I have been battling to get my vocal cords better the last 10 days,” shared Sam on Facebook. “But unfortunately they haven’t recovered and I am going to need surgery. I’m so gutted to be missing all the shows and events I was meant to be playing at.”

Smith’s vocal cord hemorrhage happened in late April, and Sam termed himself “vocally exhausted.”

In addition to Smith, Adele and Usher both had to have vocal cord surgery after having similar problems.

As the Inquisitr reported, Donny Osmond recently suffered from the same situation and had to schedule surgery with Smith’s surgeon.

The popular singer, famed for his solo career, for his work as a member of the Osmonds, and as Marie Osmond’s brother, required a vocal cord procedure.

Unaware of the problem, Donny was undergoing an exam from physicians when they found that the 57-year-old pop star suffered from a right vocal cord bleeding lesion (hemorrhagic polyp). Osmond’s surgery will be performed by Harvard Medical School’s noted doctor, Steven M. Zeitel.

Other celebrities who underwent the identical surgery from Zeitel include John Mayer, Adele, Sam Smith, and Lionel Richie.
