Reese Witherspoon Tell All: Gets Real About Raising 3 Kids And Inspiration, Not Perfect But In ‘Hot Pursuit’

Reese Witherspoon, known for her sweet southern charm and her starring roles in various romantic comedies and dramatic pics, always appears the picture of perfection in appearance and poise. The mother-of-three had a chance to share about some of her shortcomings in regards to her life as a busy mom and career woman, not to mention Hollywood leading lady, when chatting with Southern Living.

While discussing what inspires Reese to achieve such elegance style and charm, the Legally Blonde star made the connection to her grandmother and grandfather.

“My grandmother, Dorothea, was so elegant. She didn’t have a lot of dresses or anything, but she always looked put together. She’d say, ‘If you look good, you feel good.’ It’s a tenet I’ve carried all my life—whether I’m doing movies or at home with the kids. My grandfather, William, was incredibly charitable and taught me the importance of giving.”

Witherspoon’s grandparents were so pertinent to the star’s own character and being that the actress actually named her lifestyle brand Draper James, after the couple, by taking her grandmother’s maiden name and her grandfather’s middle name to arrive at the effective and meaningful title.

The 39-year-old has certainly got a lot on her plate at the moment, while Reese still is taking on leading roles in film, mothering 3 children as well as running her lifestyle business. Witherspoon admits to the publication that her life is not a perfect balance, but is perfectly imperfect and as she likes it best.

“[No] one’s really doing it perfectly. I think you love your kids with your whole heart, and you do the best you possibly can. But, you know, right now I’m feeling sad missing my little 2-year-old, and my daughter’s about to finish her freshman year of high school, and my son has a golf tournament this weekend that I hope I don’t miss. There are some sacrifices you make, and it hurts your heart sometimes, but my kids tell me they’re proud of what I’ve accomplished, and that just means everything. I grew up with a working mom, and I have so much respect for the things she did as a nurse and a teacher. I would never begrudge her that.”

Surely Witherspoon’s understanding youngsters are still proud of the star’s recent work as a cop in Hot Pursuit of getting a job done, alongside the always-hilarious Sofia Vergara-poor reviews and all. In addition, Reese has signed on to star in Cold, which is a thriller and “an original pitch written by Bill Marsillii that just sold to Lionsgate,” as Entertainment Weekly shares.
