WWE News: WWE Officials Refusing To Get Behind Kevin Owens Until He Improves His Physique

Professional wrestling, particularly WWE, can be one of the most frustrating things to follow because of their idea of what a main-event level superstar should look like. There has been an abundance of wrestlers who have come into WWE with main-event level talent and main-event level charisma, but they never really get above the upper mid-card because of how they look.

When Kevin Owens made his WWE debut this past May, it seemed like WWE was finally going to throw away their well-known standards for what a main-eventer has to look like, and they were going to get behind the then NXT champion. Then, when he defeated John Cena in his main roster debut, WWE fans were excited at the prospect of Owens being shot to the top of WWE and being in the main-event scene for several years to come.

In WWE, things never really turn out exactly the way you want them to. Just three months ago, Kevin Owens looked like he was going to be WWE’s next big main-event star. But, after losing to John Cena multiple times, he’s now been relinquished to the upper mid-card, where he’s feuding with Cesaro.

Owens’ feud with Cesaro isn’t horrible. In fact, the two of them could very well end up having the best match of the night at SummerSlam. But, most people believed that Owens would be the United States champion by now, and, unfortunately, he’s not.

So, why has WWE not fully gotten behind Owens? Well, that’s simple — they’re not happy with his physique, and they want him to drop some weight. In fact, other WWE superstars who are feuding with Owens are now being told to make fun of his weight, which is why you’ve seen guys like Cesaro and Randy Orton bring up Owens’ physical shape in the last couple of weeks.

Owens is one of the most talented wrestlers that WWE has, but, WWE will not give him a push to the top until he improves his physical condition. On top of that, there are several WWE decision makers who don’t want to see Owens succeed on the main roster, so they’re doing everything they can to derail anything that would make the former NXT champion look good.

So, no matter how frustrating it may be, Kevin Owens’ weight will be the deciding factor as to whether or not he’s a WWE main-eventer in the coming years, or if he’ll be stuck in the mid-card.
