Lisa Vanderpump Talks Kim Richards’ Shoplifting Arrest: ‘Something Needs To Be Done’

Lisa Vanderpump may not be the best of friends with Kim Richards, her former co-star on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but she does wish her well. According to an August 10 report by E! News, Lisa Vanderpump spoke out about Richards at an event in The Hamptons on Saturday, revealing her feelings towards her troubled co-star, who was recently arrested for the second time this year.

“It’s a shame. I’ve been saddened by that and it’s really not my place to comment on that now. Obviously, she’s a friend and not family but it’s out there … It saddens me to see her going in this direction. I think she has really good support but now her support needs to really step in and something needs to be done.”

Lisa Vanderpump’s former co-star was arrested on August 2 and charged with petty theft after she allegedly attempted to steal a couple of carts full of merchandise from a Target store in Van Nuys, California. The following day, Lisa Vanderpump’s former co-star was released from jail after posting $5,000 bail.

Although Lisa Vanderpump is in “constant contact” with Kyle Richards, whom she’s been friends with for the last several years, she doesn’t feel that contacting Kim is the best idea.

“I haven’t [reached out] because I feel there are people a lot closer to her than I am. I send her well wishes and hope she’s okay.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, this is not the first time Lisa Vanderpump has commented on Kim since her arrest. Earlier this week, Entertainment Tonight shared several quotes from Lisa Vanderpump in regard to her former co-star’s claim that she was “phony.”

“That kind of really stung because I feel that I have never involved myself too much in questioning her sobriety. Even last season, I said very much I don’t want to get involved because I didn’t feel like I was that close to her. That really hurt because I thought, ‘Hold on a second, I’ve always supported you and always wanted the best for you.'”

As Lisa Vanderpump continues to film Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, her former co-star continues to struggle with both her sobriety and legal troubles, and is due in court next Thursday to address her latest charge.
