Valerie Bertinelli has left her scale in the dust after losing 40 pounds, and gaining 15 pounds back. According to Entertainment Tonight, Valerie Bertinelli realizes that her weight is going to fluctuate from time to time, and she has decided to stop checking the scale because she no longer wants to stress about her number.
“It’s always going to be a struggle for me for my entire life. I’m going to have up days and down days,” Bertinelli explained. She is starting to concern herself less with her actual weight, and more with how she feels, which many feel is a good decision.
Valerie Bertinelli may use a scale in the kitchen, but it would just be a part of meal prep. The actress has a new show called Valerie’s Home Cooking where she will share “secret family recipes” with the world. According to Variety, Bertinelli is really excited to have her own cooking show. After years of doing scripted shows (One Life To Live and Hot In Cleveland), Bertinelli is ready to try something new. She says that she’s always loved to cook, and she’s excited to share her recipes with the world.
“It’s a little unexpected that I would be doing it. A lot of people don’t know how much I love to cook. I’ve talked about it here and there. I really have a passion for it,” said Valerie.
Ditching her scale, Valerie Bertinelli has taken on this cooking show with confidence, even if she does need a bit of practice looking directly at the camera, which is different from her previous acting gigs.
“Bertinelli approached Food Network on her own, she recalled, and is a regular watcher of its shows. ‘I love Giada. I love Ina,’ the actress said. She didn’t worry about messing up on camera, noting that ‘there’s no such thing as perfect in the kitchen.’ Bertinelli did have to add something to her on-set demeanor: learning how to talk right to the camera a little more.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Bertinelli was a spokesperson for Jenny Craig, and lost a lot of weight back in 2012 — 40 pounds to be exact. While she hasn’t been able to keep all of that weight off, she seems to be okay with her body, and she’s confident that she no longer needs that pesky scale to tell her what she weighs.
