‘The Bachelor’ Revealed Live On ‘After Paradise’: Ben Higgins Headed Overseas, Did ABC Pick Nick Viall?

Can’t wait to find out who the next Bachelor is? Chris Harrison hinted that he will be making the announcement on the live After Paradise show, so tune in on Monday night at 9 p.m. ET — this may be the week we find out if Ben Higgins, Ben Zorn, Nick Viall, or Jared Haibon will be handing out roses in 2016.

Fans have been waiting patiently to find out who ABC’s leading man will be, with rumors starting months ago during Kaitlyn Bristowe‘s season of the Bachelorette. One thing is certain — it will be one of Kaitlyn’s guys, with Chris Harrison telling E! that it will be “one of four guys” from her season.

According to blogger Reality Steve, the network’s top pick is still Ben Higgins. There has been some speculation that Nick Viall is a strong contender, but Steve still maintains that unless Ben turns the gig down, the 26-year-old Colorado businessman will be the franchise’s 20th Bachelor.

Taping for the upcoming season will start in September. Steve recently tweeted that the first round of girls who are hoping to be contestants on the show were in L.A. for final casting late last week.

Ben Higgins has been tweeting about his plans and none of them sound like he’s about to start filming his journey to find love. Instead, he has been sending out tweets about his travel plans with Humanity and Hope, a non-profit organization that gives aid to people in Honduran communities. Is Ben too busy to become the next Bachelor or are his tweets just fooling fans into thinking he is?

The other most talked-about frontrunner, Nick Viall, has been busy as well, but it appears that he is trying his best to stay in the public eye. His most recent posts on social media show that he’s been hanging out with his former Bachelorette co-stars JJ Lane and Clint Arlis, modeling a new look (glasses) for his fans, and jetting off to New York City for who knows what.

When will fans finally find out who the Bachelor 2016 really is? Chris Harrison didn’t give an exact date, but revealed that the announcement would be coming “soon” on After Paradise. The season finale for Bachelor in Paradise is September 8, with the last live show airing that night, so expect the announcement to happen in the next four weeks. Until then, the speculation continues.
