George and Amal Clooney appear to be still in the honeymoon of their relationship. The Hollywood powerhouse and the noted human rights lawyer were spotted on an evening out in Lake Como, Italy, and demonstrated some heavy PDA. The city was the location of their lavish wedding last year that drew massive media coverage. The couple will celebrate their first anniversary in September.

The couple has proved their intent to live an international life, as they purchased a property outside of Amal’s hometown of London. The Clooneys are undertaking extensive renovations to the heritage property. Earlier this year, the couple settled in New York City for a time as Amal took on a temporary teaching job at Columbia University’s law faculty and George filmed a move in the Big Apple.
There has also been growing speculation that Amal, 37, and George, 54, are planning to become first-time parents. This is the first marriage for Amal, but the second for George. Neither spouse has any children.
The U.K. Express noted Amal’s stylish floor-length coral dress she wore to dinner with George. The paper also revealed that she, at one point, leaned on him during the meal. E! Online mused it was nice to see a Hollywood couple still in love, after the recent news of so many celebrity breakups.
The photos come as another Express report claims that Amal Clooney might take over for Donald Trump as host of The Celebrity Apprentice. Trump was fired by NBC earlier this year because of disparaging remarks he made about immigrants. An unnamed NBC executive reportedly told Express that Amal is at the top of a very short list to be Trump’s replacement.
“As well as the cachet of being married to George, she is also a highly respected figure in her field and, since she rarely says anything in public, there is still something of an air of mystery to her.
“We think she could be a perfect fit.”
Other women in contention according to Express include Jessica Alba, who runs a multi-million dollar company in addition to maintaining a Hollywood career, and Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg.
Although Donald Trump is the best-known host of The Apprentice, Martha Stewart also hosted one season of the non-celebrity version of the show back in 2005. Bethenny Frankel was a contestant on that program.
