Mysterious Metallic Orb UFO Filmed Over North Jakarta, Indonesia [Video]

A resident of North Jakarta, Indonesia, reports filming a metallic orb UFO flying across the sky over the city.

According to the witness, in his testimony, filed as Case 68460 in the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database, he was at an outdoor basketball court with his family — his wife and toddler son — at about 5:42 p.m. on July 17, 2015, when he saw the orb UFO flying at a height of about 500 meters northwest across the sky.

It later changed course, flying in a southwesterly direction before disappearing from sight.

“It was on my south and moving towards the northwest direction … somewhat spherical and moving at a constant speed and constant altitude. Altitude … around 300-500 meters … moving slowly and constantly at about 50 meters per minute.”

Although the UFO kept a constant speed of about 50 meters per minute and a constant altitude, it appeared to change shape as it approached the witness. It changed from a roughly spherical or orb-like shape to a shape that appeared flat or squashed vertically.

The witness noticed a distinct metallic luster that reflected the light of the evening sun.

As the object moved closer to the witness’s location, he had the opportunity to observe it even more closely. He noticed that it appeared to quiver like a soft mass of jelly. But the witness thought the quivering could have been due to the light of the setting sun reflecting off an uneven surface.

“As it drew nearer to my location, the shape looked more like a slightly vertically squashed… It had a metallic sheen… the shape seemed to constantly slightly, distorting and bobbling because the reflected sunlight was not consistent…”

Based on his estimation of the altitude of the object, the witness estimated the size of the UFO at about 5 meters in diameter.

The UFO moved slowly in the direction of the witness’s location and then changed direction, moving away.

Fortunately, the witness was able to film the object using his iPhone 5s. But the filming was cut short by limited phone memory. He said that after he stopped filming, the object veered to the left — southwesterly — at the same speed and altitude.

Enthralled, he walked after the object and later jogged to keep up for about 2 minutes, over a distance of 150 meters. He finally gave up the chase because he did not want to leave his wife and young son at the basketball court.

So, he stood and watched helplessly as the object disappeared slowly beyond the trees.

He said he was fascinated by the object because he had never seen anything like it before.

“What drew me to the object in the first place was that I never saw anything like it before… my impression largely is that the object is probably man-made, maybe a stray weather balloon… The few things bugging me is the shape of the object which is like a red blood cell, the definite metallic sheen of the surface, and the changing of the direction of the object…”

He contacted MUFON because he wanted help to determine the nature of the object.

MUFON said it was investigating the case.
