This coming Saturday is Free Comic Book Day 2009. As the name suggests, you can get a free comic book just for going into your local comic store. Simple enough?

Free Comic Book Day 2009

Free Comic Book Day has been held on the first Saturday of May each year since 2002. Thousands of stores worldwide participate in an effort to bring in new readers and encourage people to buy comics.

Participating stores will give you at least one free comic for Free Comic Day. Some may offer even more.

Nearly four dozen titles are on the giveaway list, including Wolverine, The Avengers, and a special preview of DC Comics’ Blackest Night. You can find a full list of available titles here.
