Rob Kardashian Was Noticeably Absent From Kylie Jenner’s 18th Birthday Festivities

Kylie Jenner appeared to be all smiles while surrounded by her friends and family for the first round of her 18th birthday festivities on Friday, but there was one family member in particular who was noticeably absent from the bash.

Rob Kardashian was not spotted among the large group of friends and family members who showered Kylie with love and gifts during her birthday dinner at Nobu in Malibu, California, last night. Photographers snapped photos of the Kardashian-Jenner clan exiting the famous restaurant, noting that older brother Rob was nowhere to be found, Daily Mail reports.

While it’s unclear as to why Rob was not in attendance for Jenner’s big day, it’s believed that Kardashian wanted to skip out on the bash to avoid the cameras that would be filming his younger sister’s birthday for the family’s hit reality series, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

While most of Kylie’s family members took to Instagram to gush over the soon-to-be 18-year-old for her birthday, Rob made no mention of his sister’s celebratory gathering on his social media accounts.

Rob Kardashian has made a point to stay out of the spotlight since bailing on sister Kim Kardashian’s wedding to Kanye West in May, 2014, so it’s not surprising that Rob didn’t make an appearance at Kylie’s birthday party on Friday.

As for how Rob is coping with his weight gain and depression, sister Khloe Kardashian recently gushed over her younger brother during an interview with Complex Magazine.

In her cover story interview, Khloe gushes over how helpful Rob has been since she split from husband Lamar Odom last year, E! Online reports.

“It was fun at first, and then I think it was overwhelming both of us,” Kardashian admits of moving in with brother Rob following her separation from Odom.

“We were going from this huge house to his townhouse, so I can’t just like put all my s*** everywhere, but he was so great about it. Obviously he would get annoyed from time to time or when he wanted girls over, I totally get it.”

While Kardashian admits that Rob is still “going through a hard time,” she admits that they lean on one another for support, “I call him my son as a joke. I’ll call my assistant and be like, ‘Did you guys ask if he wanted lunch?’ or this or that and my sisters hate that I do that. I do baby him but I’m a maternal person.”

Kardashian continues, “Rob lives with me now, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love having him with me. I have a big a** house and I wanted it so he could feel like, comfortable.”
