WWE News: Backstage Update On Kevin Owens And Chris Jericho At WWE Live Events

Chris Jericho is one of those wrestlers that the WWE Universe will never forget. Never mind his skill and aptitude for the industry, but his mindset is among the best of all-time. Pro wrestling can be a selfish industry. Especially during the late ’90s, all the stars wanted to do was make guaranteed money. That’s where WCW and the nWo came into play. However, WWE, as well as the industry itself, is much better.

It’s able to stay that way due to men like Jericho, William Regal, Shawn Michaels, and the other legends that come back to help the younger talent get over. For example, Jericho went through drills with the Tough Enough cast. That wasn’t in his job description.

One of those fortunate WWE stars that is reaping the benefits of Jericho’s teachings is Kevin Owens. This past week, the two have worked together at WWE live events. Needless to say, both of their wrestling abilities are top notch. At the matches, Jericho’s been winning, but there’s nothing to worry about.

According to Daily Wrestling News, there’s a reason why Kevin Owens has lost to Chris Jericho at the WWE live events.

“We noted before last weekend’s WWE live events in California that Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens would be facing each other for the first time ever. Jericho, who was replacing the injured John Cena, won the matches because WWE’s rule of thumb is if the top babyface is absent, his replacement has to beat the heel.”

Kevin Owens isn’t being buried like WWE fans think he is. Also, John Cena never actually buried the former-NXT champion. It was a decision by the WWE officials to have Cena defeat Owens at the last two pay-per-views. It won’t hurt his character development or future progress.

Owens is a future main event star inside the WWE. Even if some of the WWE officials don’t believe so, Triple H won’t let Owens fall into obscurity. At SummerSlam, he and Cesaro will most-likely face-off in a match that the WWE Universe is buzzing about.

Cesaro is finally connecting with the audience. At WWE Raw, a fan in attendance printed out 7,000 “Cesaro Section” signs for the good portion of the main shot. During his entrance, the place exploded and all of the signs went up. That’s a sign of a WWE superstar getting over by himself. Owens, who is the best heel on the roster, will help steal the show at SummerSlam.
