Salma Hayek Talks About Being Happy With Her Age

Salma Hayek has long been one of the biggest actresses in Hollywood, and she’s managed to attain that title despite the fact that she isn’t getting the biggest jobs anymore. Part of the reason Salma Hayek has managed to continue to be Hollywood royalty is because she’s comfortable in her own skin. The actress recently talked about the fact that job offers are slowing down for her. Salma Hayek is so comfortable in her own skin, and she’s even comfortable talking about how glad she is she didn’t get any botox or other cosmetic surgery type treatments.

Despite the fact that Salma Hayek is plenty happy with her life choices, she understands that Hollywood is still a place that needs a bit of changing. The actress recently sat down and talked about how so many other actresses feel the pressure to change themselves in order to fit into the entertainment industry. Salma Hayek also says that she did indeed feel the need to bow to the pressure of getting work done because of the way that Hollywood treats actresses over the age of 35.

Despite that pressure, Salma Hayek says that the last decade has been a great adventure because she was eventually able to fight off that pressure. “No Botox yet, you can see…You don’t look as bad as you thought you were going to look. You don’t feel as old as you thought you were going to feel. It’s a myth. Forties are full of life. The only thing that is tough about the 40s is when you haven’t had a child. This is awful,” Salma Hayek said.

These days, the actress might not be getting the blockbuster movie roles she did when she was younger, but she’s still well known and she’s doing projects she has a real passion about. The latest along those lines is an animated film called The Prophet. The animated film is based on a collection of poems and stories put together by Lebanese author Kahlil Gibran. Salma Hayek says that the stories were brought to her by her grandfather. The actress has managed to bring in a big name director in the co-director of the Lion King, Roger Allers. The film was made for $12 million, and while that’s incredibly low budget for a film these days, it appears that Salma Hayek truly is happy with the turn her life has taken as she celebrates her 40th decade on the planet.
