New Assassin’s Creed III Trailer Teases Gameplay Reveal

Earlier today, Ubisoft sent out a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed III that threatened to show us some gameplay, but stopped short of doing that very thing.

In the video, we see Assassin’s Creed III‘s protagonist Ratohnhaké:ton (or “Connor” for short) stalking a fleeing Redcoat in a manner that looks like something a predatory animal would do. It ends with Connor shooting his victim in the back of the leg, before slowly making his way to finish the job–but we don’t get to see that part.

At the end of the teaser, we’re promised an extended version of the trailer with the first showing of actual Assassin’s Creed III gameplay. In order to get that, Ubisoft is calling on you, the fans, to put in a little work–and by work, I mean “liking” them on Facebook.

“Gamers can channel their collective excitement for Assassin’s Creed III to band together in a valiant effort to unlock the world gameplay premier of Assassin’s Creed III in the Unite to Unlock campaign,” Ubisoft says. “This program asks gamers to enlist their friends through Twitter and Facebook in a unified effort to reveal the gameplay of Assassin’s Creed III.”

To get involved with getting the Assassin’s Creed III debut gameplay trailer out, Ubisoft is directing fans at this link. Ubisoft didn’t specify how many likes they’re going for, but we shouldn’t expect to wait more than a week to see it.
