Jake Owen Divorce: Country Singer Announces End To 3-Year Marriage With Lacey On Twitter

Jake Owen has taken to Twitter to confirm that his marriage to Lacey Owen has come to an end.

Owen, who came to prominence back in 2006 with the release of his debut album Startin’ With Me, wrote a heartfelt post that confirmed his three-year marriage had finshed.

Included in the post was a quote from Jake that stated the pair’s full attention was now on their daughter, Pearl, and they were already making plans to make sure the end of their relationship was as smooth for her as possible.

Owen also called upon his fans to give him space during this sad time while at the same time thanking them for their support throughout his career.

“I wanted to let my fans know how much I’ve appreciated their support of not only my career, but my family as a whole.

“Sadly, Lacey and I have decided to end our marriage.

“We want to focus on our daughter Pearl and make sure that she has a beautiful life with loving parents.

“We appreciated you respecting our privacy during this time.”

Fans soon started to shower Jake Owen with support through Twitter.

Owen and Lacey, a model whose original name was Buchanan, became engaged on April 7, 2012. Owen popped the question to her while on stage at Vero Beach, Florida, during an annual charity event. They originally met while on the set of his music video for “Eight Second Ride.”

After just a one-month engagement, the pair exchanged vows in a service in Vero Beach, Florida, which also happens to be Jake Owen’s hometown. On November 22, 2012, the pair welcomed Oliver Pearl to their family.

The news of Jake Owen’s divorce won’t come as much of a shock to his die-hard fans. As recently as July, Owen spoke to Nash Country Weekly, via Taste Of Country, saying that he and Lacey had been having issues with communication, and they’d even discussed getting a divorce.

“Right now — and I haven’t said this a lot lately because I didn’t think this was anyone’s business other than mine and my wife’s — but my wife and I, for the last few months, have really been having a hard time and struggling with communication, and literally talking about divorce and all kinds of stuff,” he confided.

Unfortunately for the pair, they were unable to overcome these issues.
