Spice Girls World Tour Coming Soon, But Without Posh Spice

A Spice Girls world tour is coming soon, but there will be one member of the group that will be missing: Posh Spice.

According to the British tabloid The Sun, Victoria Beckham will not be joining her former group members as they embark on their world tour, 20 years after the release of their hit “Wannabe,” because she is apparently “too busy.”

The decision to reunite the group was made by members Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell, and Emma Bunton — aka Scary Spice, Sporty Spice, Ginger Spice, and Baby Spice — last month during a secret meeting in London.

“There is a huge demand for the Spice Girls to get back together, especially with the nostalgia around the two-decade anniversary of their first release next summer,” a source told the tabloid. “Mel B flew into London last month to secretly agree the plan with the other three girls. They should each make more than ten million pounds from this.”

The Spice Girls rose to fame in the 1990s, selling more than 85 million albums with the help of their hits “2 Become 1,” “Spice Up Your Life,” and “Viva Forever.”

While Victoria will not be joining her former pals, the source says she wishes them the best of luck, and the door will remain open for her to return if she so chooses.

“Victoria wishes the girls the best of luck. She knows the reunion is on but has declined to be involved,” the source explained. “She is far too busy running her fashion brand and looking after her family to get back on a stage.”

While it is exciting to think about a Spice Girls world tour, there have been past rumors of a reunion that have fallen flat, leaving fans utterly disappointed. In March 2012, it was rumored that the girl group would be joining the Backstreet Boys on their tour, however, nothing was ever announced or came of it, the Irish Mirror reports.

The Spice Girls haven’t toured together since 2007 and last performed during the closing ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics with Victoria.

“If anything happens and it’s concrete, and we decide on something, I will let you know, but nothing’s happening at the moment,” Bunton said on her Heart London radio breakfast show this morning.

She also took to Twitter to respond to the claims, teasing, “Do I need to put my pigtails in?!?!?”

Mel C also took to Twitter to respond to the Spice Girls world tour claims.

“Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising [sic] my backflips???!!!” she tweeted.
