Dwayne Johnson, Man Child? The Rock Shares Pic Of Himself At 16
Actor Dwayne Johnson shared a throwback picture of himself as a high school student on Thursday — and it’s something else!
With the picture, the Ballers actor revealed how he looked as a 16-year-old student — including the mustache that drew him a lot of attention for all of the wrong reasons.
Johnson used the Instagram caption for this picture to open up about its backstory as well as the photo’s deeper meaning to him and his journey to success over the years.
“By the time I was 16 yrs old, I had already enrolled in four high schools across the country due to being evicted and lil’ trouble with the law… “
Dwayne Johnson also listed the locations of each of the four high schools — two in Nashville, one in Honolulu, and the other in Pennsylvania.
In addition to bouncing from school to school, Dwayne also claims that his mustache (in addition to his stature at the time) drew a lot of attention for all of the wrong reasons.
“I was also 6’4 225lbs, rockin’ a dead caterpillar on my lip (aka the porn ‘stache) and all the kids in every high school thought I was an undercover cop cause I looked like a mutated, yet handsome SOB of a man child.”
The San Andreas actor also opened up about some of his lifestyle choices, such as hustling cars — crediting his past for why he is so grateful now in the present.
“In Nashville I was already hangin’ out in honey tonk dive bars on Music Row and hustlin’ cars from crackheads. Yup, one of the many reasons why I’m a grateful man for the life I have today and also grateful I straight up kicked puberty’s ass early in life.”
Dwayne Johnson has never been shy about sharing pictures from his past that might seem a little embarrassing — and absolutely hilarious — for his fans and followers to see.
Seeing an old picture of the WWE star wearing a fanny pack, for example, is definitely not something that is easy to forget, regardless of how hard you may try to do so.

However, perhaps that sense of transparency and openness is why Dwayne Johnson has generated such a large social media following in the first place. He manages to use his embarrassing photos as nostalgic reminders for himself and life lessons for others.
