Building Collapses at NYC Construction Site [VIDEO]

A vacant building collapsed at a construction site in New York City Thursday. The building collapse sent debris flying — but luckily, the area was empty and no one was hurt.

The five-story building collapsed at Reade Street in Lower Manhattan, just seven blocks away from the site of the World Trade Center, around 6:00 in the morning. The falling debris flattened at least one car, according to local media reports. Emergency crews are digging through the rubble as a precaution, but thus far, there’s no indication anyone was nearby.

People tell New York media outlets the building had been “crumbling for weeks” and they figured it was “only a matter of days” until something like this occurred.
